The journey to Bay of Islands travels through Whangarei (The largest city in Northland) and a number of historic towns and farming areas
On arrival in The Bay Islands we go direct to Opua and take the Opua Ferry to Russell – Your will be taken to Flagstaff hill and other interesting areas before having lunch (included)
After lunch you will board the Ferry for the Cape Brett hole in the rock cruise where you will have opportunity for dolphin viewing. Sighting Dolphins is not guaranteed – but Dolphins and/or other wildlife are seen on 98% of cruises.
Your cruise will terminate in Paihia and after the cruise we will have a short look at this town before returning to Auckland – Arrival time back in Auckland is approximately 8pm

All our tours travel on the same route to the Bay of Islands– but after you arrive we have 3 options of what your day can include:

On leaving Auckland your tour heads North over the Auckland Harbour Bridge . The journey will include a stop at Parry Park to see Native Kauri Trees before proceeding on to the Brynderwyn Hills stopping there for morning tea (own expense), there is a photographic opportunity of the stunning scenery in this area.
The journey to Bay of Islands travels through Whangarei (The largest city in Northland) and a number of historic towns and farming areas
Once in the Bay of Islands you will continue with your selected programme and even on a charter you do not all have to select the same option

On arrival at the Bay Of Islands the first planned visit will be the Waitangi National Reserve which includes The Treaty House and a Maori Meeting House. The site includes culturally significant intricate carvings and a large Maori War Canoe.
Following a lunch break, you will be transported by the local ferry across the bay from Paihia to the township of Russell, New Zealand’s first official Capital City..
Sightseeing on this side of the bay will include a tour around this early settlement, with its rich history, Highlights of this part of the tour will include tours of the Christ Church, Queens View and Maritime Park Centre. You will also visit Flagstaff Hill, with its fabulous views over Russell and the Bay Of Islands
On return to Paihia we will collect any passengers who have been on alternative sightseeing (see below for these options) we will then make our way South back to Auckland. Our estimated return time to Auckland and your accommodation is approximately. 8:00pm.

After visiting the Waitangi Reserve and Lunch, this tour takes passengers on board a luxury catamaran for a four hour cruise around the inner islands of the Bay, to the Cape Brett Lighthouse and to the famous Hole In The Rock. Spend the rest of the afternoon cruising around the scenic Bay Of Islands,. After the cruise, you will assemble with other passengers in Paihia and journey back to Auckland.
